2018 has flown by unbelievably fast, not least because we had so many interesting projects and events happening. Join us as we’re taking a look back on some of our absolute highlights!
As the palette of Indoor Positioning use cases has grown more diversified, so have our projects. This year has been especially exciting, as we were involved in several big projects from big international players in various industries. Here are just a few examples we wanted to share:
The significance of digitalization in corporate environments is apparent. Changing workplace models, e.g. hotdesking, lead to greater flexibility. The question is if this in turn also leads to greater productivity and comfort? We dare say only if the system is backed up by sophisticated technology solutions.
Not all businesses actually take the plunge to digitalize on a grand scale – Desjardins, North America’s largest credit union federation, did.
When traditional wayfinding signage proved problematic, Kaleida Health, Western New York’s biggest healthcare provider, knew they needed an app. Patients had had trouble finding the way to the right treatment room, asking personnel for directions. This led to inefficient workflows and wasted time on the part of personnel. Now, a mobile app helps patients navigate independently through five Kaleida Health hospitals.
With more than 650,000 travellers every day, Penn Station is US National Railway, Amtrak’s, busiest station. It is known to be exceptionally crowded and difficult to navigate, due in part also to confusing signage of multiple service providers. The new app includes an Indoor Mobile Wayfinding system that helps passengers navigate from the curb to the right platform or other points of interest.
Engaging at conferences, exhibitions and other events is always a high priority for us, not only to present our solutions, but also to learn from others and make valuable acquaintences. In 2018, we’ve been talking and exhibiting at big events such as the Mobile World Congress, industry specific events, e.g. for healthcare and transport, such as conhIT, Health 2.0 and InnoTrans, but also selected important business partner events like the Esri Partner Conference.
Also, stay tuned for updates on events we’re going to attend in 2019!
This year was also especially interesting in terms of webinars. Joining forces with our partners enabled us to talk about some thrilling projects of ours and give first-hand insights into the motivations for and process of establishing an Indoor Positioning system. Here is the list of webinars – register to get a video copy of the recording!
- Desjardins – Building a smart workplace
- TU Vienna – The university campus of the future
- Kaleida Health – Optimize Healthcare with Indoor Positioning and Mapping
All in all, 2018 was incredibly eventful and filled to the brim with thrilling new projects and experiences. We’re closing this year on a very positive note and all that’s left for us to say is happy holidays and see you in 2019!
